Philippe Soussan
Photographer, Philippe Soussan has never been able to be satisfied with what the image presents or represents. Not because of a caprice, but because he perceives in each of them the deep ambiguity where it originates. This ambiguity lies less in the image itself than in the view that each one of us has on the world around.
Yet, in fact, we never see things "in the face". The photographs of Philippe Soussan invite us to break this mystery.
He inscribes in the flesh of the visible the hidden part of oblivion or denial. His works invent a language. The "real" is not represented, nor even what is seen by the eye, but this radical shift that forbids each image to be what it claims.
